✨ The Voices of Strength: Empower Yourself through Storytelling and Advocacy!✨

Do you have refugee experience, speak english and want to share your story?

We are thrilled to invite you to join our storytelling workshops, where you can learn with the help of professional Milda Varnauskaite and others, how to tell your story effectively to wider audiences and learn more about EU values.

🔹 Storytelling Workshops and individual mentoring:

We offer workshops and individual mentoring that will equip you with the storytelling techniques, information about EU values and your rights, and create the opportunities to share your experiences.

These workshops are designed  to create a safe and cozy atmosphere to share stories and empower you to become an advocate for yourself and your community.

During the workshops your stories will stay confidential and won't be shared with wider audiences. If you get inspired to share your story further with wider audiences, some participants can receive individual mentoring, support and opportunities to share your story with others.

The workshops will be led by Milda Varnauskaite. She is a professional oral storyteller and teacher of the art of storytelling. Milda appears as a storyteller at various events in Lithuania and abroad, sharing autobiographical, folklore, historical stories and their mixtures. Amsterdam International Storytelling Festival, MIX UP Festival in Paris, FESTival in Svendborg, Denmark, Terschelling Oerol Arts Festival in the Netherlands are just a few of the many places where Milda has told stories. In Lithuania, Milda collaborates with VU, the Open Lithuania Foundation, the National Library, Kaunas 2022 and the National Museum. Milda graduated from VU with a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Intermedia Literary Studies. She studied storytelling at the Berlin University of the Arts, Oslo Metropolitan University, and graduated from the Mezrab Storytelling School in Amsterdam, where she also worked at the Mezrab Cultural Centre, one of the largest storytelling centres in Europe, attracting around 800 people every week to different storytelling events.

 🔹 Why Your Story Matters:

Your story has power. It can create empathy, build bridges, and raise awareness of the challenges refugees face and show your achievements.

🔹 Embrace EU Values: By sharing your journey, you can help combat discrimination, racism, and xenophobia. You can be the voice that fosters understanding and creates change.

We believe in the core values of the EU – democracy, human rights, equality, and solidarity. Through your stories, you can help strengthen these values and foster a deeper connection with the wider European community.

🔹 Who We’re Looking For:

This project is for you if you are a refugee living in Lithuania who wants to share your story and appreciate the stories of others. If you want to find out more about our project, please get in touch with us info@refugeeslt.com
