On December 12th, 2024, the Refugee Council of Lithuania, in collaboration with IOM Lithuania - Migration Information Center “MICenter”, hosted the event “Building Bridges: Communicating About Migration and Refugees Effectively.” It brought together experts, practitioners, and advocates to share insights and tools aimed at improving communication on migration and promoting EU values.

Event Highlights:
Ethical Storytelling: Viktoriia Palahniuk discussed aligning communication with EU values, while Dr. Lina Grudulaitė focused on NGO strategies for communicating about refugees and integration.

Refugee Voices: Violetta Ak shared powerful personal stories of refugees in Lithuania, deeply resonating with the audience.

Innovative Tools: Olena Kalashnykova introduced Playback Theatre, a creative way to engage with refugee stories through participatory storytelling.

Refugee Art: Aliaksei Stukin showed how art can be a voice of resistance and a platform for refugee expression.

Networking: The event concluded with a discussion led by Elena Semeniuk, where participants shared experiences, challenges, and best practices in migration communication.
